Consistency is Key

"If you’re persistent you will get it, if you’re consistent you will keep it."

The word “consistency” has been ringing in my ears since the beginning of this year, specifically the phrase "consistency is key.” God has been telling me this for years, but recently He seem to re-iterating it on a much higher level. At first, I thought he was trying to get this point across to me regarding my blogging and social media, but I’ve learned that in addition to those things there was a bigger lesson.

In a marriage, or any relationship in general, communication is vital for success. Without it, there could be confusion, anger, jealousy and resentment. You could easily find fault in the other person because of their presumable lack of action or consideration when they've never been told that their actions were an issue. In retrospect, you can also find yourself in a place of stillness with no ambition to move forward, help others, or shine your light when you do not communicate with God. This is not something that should be done once a week, every other day, or just when you need something, but it should be done daily. Wake up early to read your Bible (at least 1 chapter), pray, listen to worship music and just allow God to speak to you (and listen!) In our career, marriage, friendships, and relationships, we have learned that anything that is worth having is worth fighting for, so let's fight for our relationship with God through consistent communication and quality time with Him.

Are you waiting for the spark to be re-ignited in your relationship with God or to finally see the changes in others that you have been hoping for? Start with a consistent line of communication. From there, He will guide your ways and words with others so that you can begin to see the necessary changes in your dreams, relationships and life manifest!
