Gratitude is my Attitude
“And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan” -Luke 17:15
Gratitude. It’s something that many of us strive to have daily, while others choose to have it. Either way, I feel as though God has been re-iterating to me the importance of gratitude. It may be because of the particular season of my life that I am currently in, or it may be just a friendly reminder for me to share with all of you. Most likely it's a little bit of both!
Last night, I read the above scripture about the ten lepers in the Bible and had a moment (Read Luke 17: 11-19). I stopped and re-read this particular verse about 5 times. I thought about the many times I've ask God to do certain things in my life and when he does it in the most subtle (and sometimes loud) way, I acknowledge HIM with a quick “thank you GODDD !! ”, and move forward with my life. I noticed that the difference between my reaction and the person in this scripture is that he didn’t just tell God “thank you” he showed him. He ran back to God instead of moving forward with his life, but not only that...he fell at his feet giving him thanks!
How many times has God blessed not only us, but those around us who we have been praying for (sometimes for years!)? He does it because he loves us and wants to see us happy. In return, all he ask is for us to truly SHOW that we are grateful by both telling him and sharing what he has done for us to others so that they can also be inspired.
2019 will be a year of greatness…and a year of MORE! Let’s get a head start on our blessings by giving thanks to God in advance and showing him by sharing our testimonies with others. Let’s have an attitude of gratitude !!
