Who Told You?

He said, “I heard the sound of You [walking] in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.” God said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten [fruit] from the tree of which I commanded you not to eat?” - Genesis 3:10-11

It is officially 2019! Which means that the clock has been reset and we have been given a new set of days (365 to be exact) to take hold of what God has for us. Yesterday, I felt that God was instructing me to start from the beginning of Genesis and reread. At first, I didn’t understand why he wanted me to start over because I felt I was doing pretty good with my reading. But after reading the first few chapters, I quickly realized why it was the perfect word to start the beginning of the year for all of us.

During my reading I came across the above scripture that talks about Adam and Even in the garden. It states that shortly after eating from the forbidden “Tree Of Life” they hid themselves, because they gained an understanding that they were naked and were ashamed.  God quickly asked them “who told you that you were naked?” Since it was not Him who gave them this knowledge he knew that they gained it through disobedience. How many times has society told you that you were unqualified? How many times has it told you that you were sick, in debt, not able to receive a miracle, etc.?  But God says “who told you those things?” If it didn’t come from his lips means that the understanding that you received came from the wrong place. If that little nagging voice in your ear does not align with the word of God, then it is wrong!

We have no limitations and NOTHING can hold us back from walking into our destiny and fulfilling the purpose that God has placed within each and every one of us! Don’t allow 2019 to be the year that you miss out on what God has for you because you listened to the wrong voice. If the report and/or negative words given to you regarding your life doesn’t align with what the word of God says, it is a lie!

Fill your heart with the truth that is within the Bible and keep your ears in tune to God’s voice.  I promise your 2019 will thank you for it! :)
